  Ring Guide
Your ring size

Consider comfort and reassurance. When selecting a wedding ring for the bride to-be and wedding band for the groom to-be, the first task is determining the ideal ring size. Using a ring sizer, a Diamond Emporium jeweller can help you select the perfect size that feels comfortable on your finger and fits securely, so it does not slip off of your hand during day-to-day activities or in cold temperatures.

Two rings are better than one

Many women opt for a complementing wedding and engagement ring set. When doing so, both rings are traditionally worn on her left ring finger. However it is equally acceptable for a woman to wear her engagement ring separately on her right hand following the ceremony. When wearing both rings on one finger, the wedding ring typically goes on first.

As you shop for an engagement and wedding ring pair, try both rings on at the same time to see if they require size adjustments to align with one another. Your jeweller can also bind the two together following the ceremony, if you prefer.

Selecting your metal

It is common for men and women to match their ring metals, but this is certainly not mandatory. When choosing a metal, consider your skin tone and personal style. Yellow and white gold are common choices for wedding rings. But platinum, being the hardest, does not need to be mixed with an alloy and, therefore, is the safest choice for those with allergies.

Fine details

Most wedding bands for men and some wedding rings for women offer a bit of room for engraving on the inner side. If this is the case, you might want to consider engraving a favorite saying, your name or the wedding date on your ring.

Selecting a Stone

While diamonds are the most common stone used in wedding rings, there are many other options from which to choose. Some brides and grooms steer toward the simplistic look of plain metal, while others favor a burst of color with fancy diamonds or colored stones. Your wedding ring design is limited only to your imagination.

Timing it Right

Timing is an important consideration, whether sizing a ring in our showroom to fit your finger or working with Diamond Emporium to customise your very own unique wedding ring. Basic ring sizing requires the skill and attention of a trained jeweller, which can take approximately four weeks to complete. Custom ring design is more involved and takes even longer. Talk with your jeweller to make sure you allow enough time for sizing or design before the big day.

Selecting the Right Jeweller

Your jeweller should be knowledgeable and helpful, able to answer your questions and help you select the ideal ring that suits your budget and style. Diamond Emporium is a second-generation family-owned and operated business, with gemmologists, jewellers, appraisers and professionals accredited by the Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA).
